Pen and Ink Sketch-Dan Beard
A great piece of Americana. A pen and ink sketch of a fisherman catching a large bass. The artist, Daniel Carter Beard, is best known as one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America. He was the National Scout Commissioner for many years. He illustrated The American Boy's Handy Book and the early versions of the Boy Scout Handbook. A lifelong friend of Mark Twain, Twain picked him to illustrate A Connecticut Yankee at the Court of King Arthur. Mt. Beard, near Mt. McKinley was named in his honor.
The sketch is in two parts that connect and has been professionally framed.

James King Bonnar
"Winter in New England"
By James King Bonnar (1885-1961) born in North Adams, MA and lived in Newtonville, MA . He was a member of the so-called Rockport school of artists along with Gruppe, Hibbard, Thieme,etc. He was known for his harbour and marine paintings as well as autumn and winter paintings in Vermont and New Hampshire. He exhibited for many years at the North Shore Arts Association and the Rockport Art Association.
This lovely winter scene of a New England village in a bygone era is 10 x 13, gouache, beautifully framed 21 x 23. In perfect condition, no fading.
